So without getting all crazy and detailed, here are some updates in Picture Atlantic news:

-We will be going on tour starting Feb. 23rd, and ending on March 24th. This tour will take us to SXSW 2009, and will be sponsored by AP.net and Purevolume.com. We will be touring with Monarch, Queens Club, Chandeliers, and Students. Please take a moment to check them out online.
-We are getting a new van very soon.
-Our old van exploded
-We have a handful of new 'show-worthy' material, which we are randomly playing playing.

Its been a while hasn't it?
Well, I'm glad to say that we shall be posting as much as needed from now on, but definitely more frequently.
So lets go over the news, here and there.

The month of Nov is shortly coming to an end, and we have one mighty and gigantic show at the end of the month.The flier is below. This will be our last show in the Bay area for this year. No worries on our lovely silicon valley, we will be back as soon as we can be, next year, 2009. December though, is mighty busy for you out of town folks....or I should say, people that are out of town to us.

There is also an interview and live performance we did with San Jose State's very own 90.5 FM. On the 'Podcast' there is a live performance of Clytaemnestra/Cassandra Castaway and Wrapped Up. A Farewell

I got some shocking news recently.

The City of San Jose has shut down all show activity at San Jose Skate.

I'm not sure why exactly, and I'm sure though, that the reasoning behind it has to be political in nature, and probably not thought out very well by the city. The City, as of late, has strict to an insane degree towards shows and promoters, and it was a matter of time before something like this happened.

Its sad though, really.

We are playing the Last SJ Skate Show Ever on November 7th. It will be held at San Jose Skate, and will be all ages.

We'd love to have you out. Really, it would be worth your time to share the last event there, and have some fun with us! This will be our last SJ show for...well..who knows how long. Definitely not till next year...and even then, thats a guess.

A Big Sorry

So, unfortunately, our show at the PAC Art Gallery that was meant to happen with The Sound of Orange was cancelled last minute. Apperantly, a mix up with the promoter and the PAC Art people meant that the venue had no idea we were playing at all, and the cops were called. Bummer.
But, for those that stuck around, we were able to sneak in a tiny, teeny, acoustic set , un-miced on the stairs next to the Gallery.

Thank you to those of you who came out and who helped set it up. If you missed us, and still want to see us, but electric, on the 10th, we'll be playing San Jose Skate with the Ataris.

We've been gone a little haven't we?

So hrm...how to sum up whats been going on.

So we played a couple shows recently that were truly awesome, and we had a lot of fun with. First was a show with Daphne Loves Derby at San Jose Skate. It was really nice to have a local show, after having mostly out of town gigs, and it felt nice to see some familiar faces in the crowd, and even have a mosh pit break out. I heard someone got punched! in the chest! Imagine that. Next it'll be flaming chairs thrown into the audience.

We spent a couple weeks practicing, and writing. Its been, in most cases, pretty successful. After writing an album, and focusing on shows though, I can say things have slowed down just a little. We're taking it slow. Album 2 wouldn't even be in the works for ages, as it is.

A couple nights ago, we played the Trophy Fire's CD Release show at the Rickshaw Stop in SF. What can a guy say, it was awesome. We opened the show, followed by the secret guest, The Matches. Next up was The Hundred Days who played a solid set, and then, the final move, done by The Trophy Fire. They did a terrific job, and I wish them the best with their new Album "A Lifetime Spent in The Ocean", which you can pick up here : www.myspace.com/thetrophyfire

People were awesome. Bands were Awesome. The show was awesome. I even made friends with a girl named Amie who had secretly stowed away in our van by climbing in through the back door while we were loading. She took some pictures of us with her digital camera, and we talked about baseball bats and art. You can't beat that can you? One nice gentleman even bought an album from us outside the venue, as I stood , street peddler style with an open box of CDs.

Overall, its been an awesome couple of shows. It truly has.

Just as a side note, the band Bloc Party has recently release a new album, and I've been taking a listen to it lately. I'm not sure what I think about it yet, so go ahead and check it out.Tell me what you think. New Album releases are always fun, and there are quite a few bands releasing albums this year.

We've only had one so far, but its been pretty successful, not to mention, really fun!

What comes into our horizon?

Ok, so the Coldplay craze is over.Well, at least officially on paper. People still ask me about it, and some even give me a hard time (as friends of course!) about it. Its been awesome so far though. I mean the aftermath. Its gotten us a lot of attention, which is always beneficial for bands.

The band has just started practicing again, which is a huge vacation for us. We spent so much time recording, and all the dumb technical stuff that goes a long with it, that we got burnt out on studio stuff. Then we had our 'tour' which lasted about a week and a half. To get back to just writing music the simple way is an exciting thing.

Its kind of weird to think that we're already writing new songs, right after our first full length album was put out, but we're being careful about not rushing things so far. This sounds like bragging (but its really not when you think about the work involved), but we have almost 37 songs so far. Don't be so impressed. A lot of those songs are older ideas that we've been tossing around, and haven't really gotten into the oven yet. Once we start messing around with them, the number of songs will definitely drop pretty fast.

right now we're just trying to get out there and play for your amusement, so keep your eyes peeled. We have a couple shows coming up this month, so be sure to check them out.

Coldplay!!

Here's my much belated Coldplay post. There's so much to write about, so if I forget something, forgive me.

So if you hadn't heard, our band Picture Atlantic won this contest through Live105 to open for Coldplay on July 18th at the HP Pavillion.

The Contest:
So the way the contest works, is that any unsigned bands from the area were to submit a live video/music video/some sort of video to the Coldplay contest channel on Youtube. From there, the station (Live105 in our case) would pick the top 15. Once the 15 were announced, the public could vote (once per IP address) and the top 3 vote winners would move on to the final round. So once you get in the top 3, Coldplay/their management decides on the band to play.

The day they announced the top 15, I was woken up by a call from my mom. We were on tour at the time and were staying at my grandma's house in LA. I was so surprised that we even made it to the top 15. Being a predominately San Jose band, I felt we would be overlooked by Live105 since they have so much love for the SF/Oakland bands. So I told Patrick, who was still mostly asleep next to me, ("Bro, we got on the top 15" *high five* "Sick, bro") and then got in the shower. It didn't hit me until I got out that even getting in the top 15 was going to be a lot of work to do. Once we were all up, we began checking out the site, calling people, making flyers, telling friends to vote, etc. Originally in the contest rules there was a bit that wasn't so favorable to the bands, but we sorted it all out with our attorney.

The voting was supposed to run from July 7th through the 11th. Every day we remained in the top spot, which although didn't ensure a win, was so satisfying to have. It reminded us just how many people were behind us through all of this. I'll give more thanks later on, but for now, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who voted or even supports us in general. We wouldn't be anywhere without you.

So as each night passed, Patrick, Rico and I would usually stay up till 3 or 4am, just talking about the contest. So many "what if's" were asked, decided on, then thrown out because we didn't want to get our hopes up. After everyone would be asleep, I'd still be up, honestly getting sick to my stomach in anticipation.

The voting ended up being extended until the 14th. This just killed me. Even if we were to lose (which I truly thought was the case,) I just wanted to know. The uncertainty drove me insane. We finally found out on the 15th. I had been waiting for a call from the station all day, but it never came. We had been staying at Nick's Aunt Sherry's house (in SLO) and were on the way to the beach when Patrick's girlfriend texted him the news. The contest site had been updated to show our video and a congratulations (it's still up now, if you want to check it out.) At first I didn't want to believe it, but once I saw the page for myself we all started yelling. It was such a surprise and the biggest relief to just know, let alone have won. We started calling everyone as we made our way to the beach. Once there, everyone sort of split up, so I called my mom to talk about it for a bit, before I walked down the beach alone, listening to Strawberry Swing on repeat. Quite fitting to me.

Over the next few days, we were mentioned and played on Live 105. At one point, I was stuck in traffic on my way to the Diesel store in SF (with Kev P Sullivan, no less) and right when the intro to "Clocks" came on the radio, the DJ said, "Congrats to Picture Atlantic for winning the contest! I can't imagine what it must be like for them right now. They are probably partying it up!" I wanted to call in and say, "No, we're not partying. I'm stuck in traffic and really stressed out." There was just so much to think about so we couldn't really celebrate just yet.

The Show:
So the day finally came. I woke up early and my mom and aunt took me shopping for some last minute stuff. Up until that point I hadn't felt nervous about the show, but now I was starting to feel it. As I waited for everyone to arrive at Nick's, I started to feel sick from the anticipation.

We got to the venue a little bit before our scheduled time of 3:00. It was hilarious to park our terrible van next to these huge tour buses in the loading area. We unloaded into the back and sat around for a few minutes feeling awkward and unsure about everything. Once we got our laminates and could be recognized as the opening band (as small as we are) things became very exciting. We met 3/4 of the band as they were dropped off by a team of SUV's (guess who wasn't with the others ^_^ ) and it was such an honor. My true, unbiased opinion is that they truly were incredibly nice and down to earth, especially for being pretty much the biggest band in the world (though I will be biased with my Bono hating.)

We had a few hours before our sound check, so like little curious animals (in this case I will use welsh corgis for my animal example) we wandered around the arena, free to go wherever we liked. I felt like such a nerd walking back and forth throughout the hallways. People could tell we were these starstruck fans, but also treated us like true musicians. Most of the staff were from the UK (I'm going to go ahead and assume, I apologize if there was an Aussie running around back there!) which was so cool to me. Hearing the accent come from everyone you met made us feel like we were in a different world. I'll thank them later as well.

We got to watch Coldplay soundcheck. We were the only people in the room, sitting near the front row. It was an unreal experience that coincidentally made them real people to me. I obviously realized before that they were just four regular people from the UK who had become huge, but this was proof. They made mistakes, they argued a bit about songs, they messed around. It made me feel so much better about myself as a musician, to see the biggest band in the world were also just like us in so many ways.

After we ate (the food was amazing by the way! Can someone please explain to me what Eton Raspberry Mash is? I want it again) we proceeded to sound check. It was the most thorough soundcheck we have ever had, and probably will ever have for a long time. Just looking out to the empty arena from the stage was mind blowing.

After sound check, Patrick and I walked around out front to see tons of people filing inside. I truly hadn't been nervous about playing since we had arrived, but seeing all those people gave me the chills.

We all grouped up behind the stage a few minutes before we were set to go on. Sadly, Brian wasn't allowed to play with us on stag due to some technicalities, so he had to use his mind energy to play his parts from the crowd. Let's all give a big hand to Brian Graves for the strength of his mind powers!

Our set:
We huddled up, said some words, did a group cheer of "Queens for life!" and walked out on stage. We were met with an applause I have never heard before. Only 75%ish percent of the arena was full at this point, but really, 12-14,000 people is nothing to scoff at :)

Oddly enough, I wasn't nervous while we played. It just felt right. I realized we were meant to be there on that stage, in front of all those people. The set went by in a flash, and after every song we were given a big applause. We had a lot of people there in the crowd we knew cheering us on, so I want to thank them for that.

My Guy Berryman rant:
Once we were done, we got off the stage. I was the last one off, and right before I stepped onto the ramp, I noticed someone sitting on the side of the stage - Guy Berryman! For those of you out there who are Chris Martin fanboys, let me educate you. Guy Berryman is one of the best bass players in the non-wank/virtuoso genres of music. He is truly my biggest musical hero and influence. The first time I heard the bassline to Coldplay's "Sparks" (click for a video link!) it honestly changed my life and understanding of bass guitar. Up until then I had no real direction in my playing, no grasp of what could be done and how to do it. So before I rant, just know, Guy Berryman is my hero.

ANYWAY, so he told me he was impressed and surprised by our set. The band didn't know what they'd be getting themselves into with the whole contest, but it seemed to have worked out. I told him he was my biggest bass hero, and he replied, "You're pretty good yourself, mate!" I truly take this to heart. I know he could have said something else just to be nice, but I think for him to say that he at least thinks I'm on the right track.

After the set, Guy came and hung out in our dressing room for a half our or so. We all talked about normal band things, and he treated us as if we were any other legitimate band (not that we aren't, but in comparison to COLDPLAY...) In another starstruck fan moment, I had him sign the back of my headstock. Think what you will of the situation, but I have dreamed of meeting Guy for years, and for him to compliment ME on my playing was unreal. I will take that compliment to heart for the rest of my days.

Coldplay's set:
So we hung out for a while, celebrating now that the pressure was off. Unbiasedly, we played very well and we were all proud to be in our band.

Coldplay took the stage around 9:15ish. My only regret of the night was checking out their setlist prior to them playing. It ruined the surprise of songs for me, but in the grand scheme of it all it really doesn't matter. I got to see Coldplay at Shoreline in 2005 (thanks Steve Wozniak!) for free, in great seats, and that was the best concert of my life. In many ways, that show and the 18th are tied. However, they still put on the best show I have ever seen. They had a great bit where they did some songs on this platform (Will played a sampler pad) all standing together, and they also went out into the crowd for two acoustic songs. Will sang the last one, so if anyone still had a doubt if he too was a great singer, they surely didn't after that. Chris said their goodbyes, but reassured the crowd it was obligatory for them to leave and come back. In a few minutes they returned with some more songs. During "Lovers in Japan", they released millions of these butterfly cut outs into the crowd. The second time around, when the room was filled to the top, they changed the lighting, so all you could see were these glowing, flying butterflies. It was truly the most amazing sight I have seen in all of my short time on this earth, and it brought a tear to my eye. You'd really have to be there to understand how incredible it was. The band did a final encore of "Death and All His Friends", and as they walked off, "The Escapist" played. It was the perfect way to end the set.

We went back to the dressing room and packed up, thanked everyone we could, and headed home in our terrible, yet still reliable green van. Everyone met back up at Nick's house for a bit to talk about the night, and I fell asleep with the biggest smile on my face.

In Conclusion:
It goes without saying that Coldplay is one of our favorite bands. Their newest album was much more incredible than I expected it would be, and has been the soundtrack to my life since it was released. To get to meet, see, AND play with our biggest heroes was a true dream come true. There is so much more I could say about the night, but I'm sure the rest of the band can fill in the blanks.

I'm not sure how we can ever repay all of the work you have done for us. As small as we are compared to the biggest bands out there, we really do have amazing fans. So how should we repay you? -My mom. She always kept me on top of info as soon as it was available. Especially while not having the internet for most of the tour, without my mom we would be in a bad spot. Not to mention I owe her everything for always supporting my dream to be a musician. I could go on but I'll keep it short! I love you, mom!
-My stepdad, Joe, for also always supporting my music, even when it sucked (and trust me, it sucked.) A big thank you for taking these pictures so everyone go check them out!

Peter (catering) - I cannot thank you enough. When we first came in to the load in area, he had asked me what kind of beer we wanted in our dressing room, but I thought he was telling me I wasn't allowed in the back (or something like that.) I was surprised we were given anything, but I did go into this expecting nothing. Throughout the night Peter brought us our beer/water, fruit and other assorted snacks to the dressing room, and after we played, we came back to the room to find champagne waiting for us. So to Peter, I say thank you very much!

Terry (head of security), Jaqui, Tiffany, Mike (the sound guy - thanks for treating us like a legit band and giving us such a good mix on stage!) Heather, Lauren, Dave Holmes (coldplay's manager/tour manager - he was honestly someone you'd see in a movie. The slightly older yet truly still cool as hell UK manager, who curses a lot and always had something funny to say)

If I've left you out, let me know! This was a lot to remember.

So in closing, I would just like to say that if you have a dream, don't ever hesitate to chase it. Don't let other people tell you what you can and cannot do, because they aren't even capable of knowing your potential. Stick with those people who do realize, and never let them go.

Picture Atlantic - Kleos - June 2008

The time has finally arrived.

We are at the very last step of the album.

The name of the album is Kleos, and the track listing is below this post.
It will be released in June 2008

Hi all,

It's been a while since I have posted on the blog. I've been a bit preoccupied (maybe not), but I plan on writing more regularly now. Everything in the PA camp seems to be running full steam right now as we gear up for our CD release next month!

Lately i've been questing to find the holy grail of guitar tone. I've been a computer junkie conducting multiple internet searches on sweet gear that I can't afford. I'm sure my roomates and bandmates are sick and tired of hearing me talk about tone, etc..life goes on.

Just a big thank you to all of you who came out to the Bottom of The Hill show last night. I can personally say, that we all had a blast rocking out with you guys! Also a personal thanks to the people headbanging in the front row.

And of course, a high five and a handshake, not to mention a hug to Audrye Sessions, An Angle, and Scott from Poor Bailey for playing the night away with us!

As we have mentioned, for those of you who attended, we ARE releasing our album sometime in late june. The date is secret for now, but we have everything planned out as I speak (er...type).

Here's some interesting news:

1) Tickets are still available for our show on May 2nd at Bottom of the Hill (with Audrye Sessions and An Angle.) Click the image below to be taken to the site where you can buy them.

2) We have new shirts - they will be available at all upcoming shows.

3) We spent a night with the artist who is doing our album artwork. She is honestly amazing so I have no doubt it's going to look amazing too.

4) The date of our CD release has been finalized. Once the minor details are sorted out we'll let you know, but it is in fact this June.

Hello all!

Got some fun updates for you guys!
Firstly, just want to apologize to those of you who were told the the free download day was on April 3rd. It was in fact on April 4th. There was some kind of mix up down the wire, and we were told the 3rd. But on one hand, we did continue with the download day, and I'm happy to say that we were informed, that our song "Circe" was the #1 top download for the week at Fuzz.com.

So what else?

We're currently in the mixing and mastering stages of the album, meaning that its VERY close to being done. A matter of a couple months at most.No info on the album, but we will let you all know very soon.

And for the last bit..

On May 2nd, we'll be playing with An Angle, and Audrye Sessions at Bottom Of The Hill. So far, we've had good response, and a lot of pre-order tickets sold.If you would like to pre-order yours as well, please head on over to myspace.com/pictureatlantic. Just wanted to say a thank you to all of you who came out to the show this friday.

I want to thank Holy Ghost Circuit for displaying sexiness, for Down, Down,Down, and their super sensual four part harmonies, and to the Higher for bringing the show together.

Amidst a Blackout,and two members missing, we somehow managed to get through the show, and we appreciate your guys patience and awesomeness!

Hey guys!
(I've done the math and found out there are 15 of you :) )

Heres an update that will make way more sense, and won't leave you in the dark like most of the posts we put up.

So , I'm going to take a leap, and say, at least from my point of view, that everything is recorded. All that is left is the mixing/mastering process. We might use a couple days to add in little things like keyboard noises and sounds (whatever that means), but I would say that for the most part is all done. oh, save for one song that we're doing in April of just me, but its only going to take a day (trust me).

Still no specific date for the release, but it will be one week before our CD release show. That I know to be true.

Cool things coming up? Why yes...there are.

In May, on the 2nd, we'll be playing Bottom of The Hill in San Fransisco with Audrye Sessions, and the very angular , An Angle. There will be tickets for the show, so please try to get your hands on them before the show sells out.

Well hello there friends!

Just wanted to say thank you to all our friends out there, more specifically The Pilots Wife, Pericardium, and Audrye Sessions.

The show on the 29th was fabulous, and we had a wonderful turn out. All the pictures for the show are up on myspace.com/ediphotoeye in the pictures section. It should say Picture Atlantic and Friends as the folder.

Whats next?
Well, we have another show coming soon in Los Gatos with The Pilots Wife, Vega, and Razing Alexandria. Thats a must, as its our last show for some time..probably not till the album release, which by the way IS being worked on. We spent the last couple weeks getting ready for live shows again,and our focus has been mainly set on that.No worries though, the album is going to be OFFICIALLY at its swan song after March.

On some separate notes, I'll be releasing a cooking book very soon entitled "Ramen and its 101 ways to be prepared". I'm pretty excited about this. Ramen is a passion of mine, and Oprah said she'd showcase it in her book club. I'm definitely in ;)

I can't really make any promises now, or say anything, but we have some very big things sailing into view, and we'll be letting you know about them as soon as they are set in stone. Keep your eyes peeled.

A spoonfuf of Ramen makes the medicine go down

Hello all

As some of you know, we've been spending quite a bit of time in the studio. This requires time and precious american dollars to arrive at said location.What you might not know is that on the economic food chain, musicians only rank one click above the homeless. We're just too pretentious to ever beg for money (except from our relatives).

Eventually this will get to your wallet, and not to mention your diet.

You start spending money at the nice, hip , mexican place down the street, then the McDonalds on San Pablo, and eventually you're using 7-11 gift cards that your boss gave you as a christmas present.

what can a musician do with exactly five dollars and an empty stomach. Buy lots of Ramen. Not only did I buy the Ramen, but I ate it all. I decided it would be a good idea to do a little review on which is your best choice when faced with poverty.So to you, I present the "Mega Ramen Showdown".

NISSIN 'SOUPER MEAL'

ok, don't laugh just yet. This was actually pretty good. It took your regular 6 minutes in the microwave to cook, and the instructions were easy enough to follow.

Taste:The Taste wasn't actually that bad. It claims garlic and tomato, and they did a pretty good job on getting the garlic, but somewhere along the line, the tomato was replaced with apple peels. Noodles are a special thing to Ramen buyers. And I would say that these noodles did the job. They weren't dry , and they did a good job of cooking.It was a nice enough texture that you forget they mass produce these in the old Beijing Toyota factory.

Spiciness:Not very spicy. Which I enjoyed actually.

Texture:As I said earlier, the texture was nice. Moist but not too moist. Overall a nice eating experience.

Overall Rating:I'm going to give this a three out of four noodle cups, since I felt I was eating actual food

CUP NOODLE 'SHRIMP' FLAVOR

I decided on getting this one, because its the most common cup noodle Ramen, and its an easy palette cleanser. Its a good , plain enough Ramen, that it'll help judge the other two.

Taste: I remember once, being taken on a styrofoam factory tour as a child with my 5th grade class. I think they specifically told us not to get any of the styrofoam in our mouth, because our bodies couldn't digest them, and it would make us sick. Apparently the creators of this food, were sick on that day in 5th grade and got stay home playing Mario, instead of learning the dangers of styrofoam ingestion. I clearly let the noodles sit for the recommended 6 minutes, but apparently they meant 6 hours. These noodles were far from cooked.The taste was bland and unatractive..horrible really. And not to mention the broth. Broth is broth.But this was Shrimp flavored Ramen water. Also, I didn't encounter any shrimp in my deep sea adventure into flavor.

Spiciness:N/A

Texture:It constantly reminded me of half dried playdough. It felt as though it hadn't been cooked enough. It was a harrowing experience.

Overall Rating:This was by far the worst Ramen of the three, and it made me realize how much better the others were. So I guess it did its job.I'm giving it one cup out of four, because this is, in fact, a cup. What do you expect for 50 cents?

Score:

NISSIN 'CHOW MEIN' SHRIMP FLAVOR

This isn't exactly cup noodles, nor does it really have broth in it, but its by the same company, and it has noodles in it.

Taste:The overall process was easy, and it yielded nice results. It was, yet again meant to be shrimp flavored. I didn't taste much shrimp on it, but there were shrimp in the actual chow mein. When I say shrimp, I say shrimp shaped salt chews.The noodles, tasted fine, and the seasoning packets made it actually something nice to eat. Not the best, but not horrible.

Spiciness:N/A

Texture:The Texture was again, very moist, and tasted more like real noodles than I thought it would. Although, it WAS slightly gooey , but I Think that came from the "Finishing touch" packet. Whatever that is.

Overall Rating:I would say that this was worth the one fifty I spent on it. Not the best, but still, it was food(of some sort). It doesn't really count as cup noodle in my mind though.

Score:

There we have it kids. I hope you enjoyed. Let this be a lesson to you as well!

The Chicago blues scene is what started blues as we know it. All the big names that play the crossroads festival, or have shaped what we see of blues today started from Chicago. Thats where it was at. They're all big names now, but they started out very, very small.

Muddy Waters was the definitely the spearhead of this scene. Muddy Waters played the New Port Blues and Jazz Festival, definitely making a name for themselves. To this day, even huge rock stars , look to them as an amazing influence. They had a huge effect on so many musicians today.

Muddy Waters wasn't the only blues musicians to come out of that scene. There were others like Buddy Guy, Freddie King, Howlin' Wolf, Mike Bloomfield, Paul Butterfield,and Sonny Boy Williamson. These people accomplished amazing things. Buddy Guy is still around to this day, making a huge comeback by playing sold out shows with John Mayer. Freddie King is of the "three Kings" fame, along with B.B. King. Mike Bloomfield was the lead guitarist for two of Bob Dylan's early 60's electric albums, and was also his live guitarist. Paul Butterfield went on to start the Butterfield Blues band,featuring Bloomfield, which also became Bob Dylan's live backing band when he went electric.

The reason these musicians went on to fame, besides having immense talent and passion was simply that they supported each other. Paul Butterfield loved Mike Bloomfield's playing, so he asked him to join his band. They got signed, and went on to an amazing career. Muddy Waters asked Buddy Guy to make guest appearances at their shows, and also to fill slots at shows. Simply because of this, these bands and musicians thrived and grew. They supported each other, and pointed to each other as peers and fellow musicians.

Right now, people say "The Scene is Dead". That can mean a lot of things to different people. To be honest, right now I don't even think there is a scene to kill. Its been dead a while. But that doesn't mean we can't do something about it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying go out and start going to every show on the face of the planet. I'm not saying plaster stickers of your favorite local bands everywhere just because. But I am saying that if the scene is dead, its because WE killed it. A music scene is made up of its people and bands. Nothing else.If the scene is dead, then why is now not the most perfect time to build a new one? This isn't my attempt to point at ANYONE and say "This is your fault". I think we all have an equal part to play in this. I have respect for everyone, and I don't discriminate when it comes to listeners and viewers at a show. I think any band to do this is amazingly foolish and bitter, to cut down a scene that got them to wherever they are today. With that said I love you all, and I am deeply indebted to every band I've shared a bill with, every promote that has booked us, and every person who said our name at the door.

But most importantly, and where I wanted to take this, is the bands.

Like the example above, this band was made up of all kinds of musicians, doing their own thing. They played together, and supported each other. They had drive and passion for their music, and they saw it in the other musicians around them, and helped each other out. I'm not going to pretend to be naive about the current situation right now. Speaking from one band to many others, I know what its like, and I know the drama and situations that come with playing and making music. It can come with fans, or it can come with venues, or even other bands. The latter being the worst.

A scene is made up of bands working together, and helping each other out is what strengthens it.

We're going to be the ones that benefit each other. A friend can help more than you imagine, and from experience, the best shows are the shows where everyone is pumped to be playing with friends, and excited that everyone is there to have fun and do what they love.

So in essence this is a call , out to all the bands in the San Jose/Bay Area music scene, that there are things we can do to help each other, and ourselves, and make this music scene what we want it to be. If you want to answer this call, I'd be honored, and privileged to have you answer it. If not, I still deeply respect your decisions and goals. Everyone has their own, and they don't always mesh. Thats just life.

Like the chicago blues scene, we can make something of ourselves and make a name for San Jose.

I'm sure some of you are saying "Where does this guy get off telling us this?". But I would say this: I'm only stating the facts. I'm throwing my opinion out there, but I would think if you asked any experienced band, they would say the same things. That peer support and community is very important. I'm not pointing fingers to anyone, and if you feel this way, I apologize, its not my intention in the least, and I'm extending this to everyone equally and honestly with no bias. I'm not saying there is no hope, but I'm offering an option to make a new start, and have a hell of a lot of fun doing it. There are those of you who, for one reason or another, don't care. Or you just don't like to go to shows. Or maybe your band isn't where I'm talking about. Everyone is at a different place, and I don't claim to know where that is. If this isn't your bag, then I respect that and I wish you the best in what you pursue.

So lets think together, not separately.

I hope you're all well, and that your season is going smoothly. 2008 has a lot to offer our local music scene, and some big releases are coming up, so be prepared people.

Hi all,

Patrick here to give you the down-low on recording/new things you should know about.

First of all, I am proud to announce that Picture Atlantic has a new drummer and his name is Rico. He has long since been a friend of of the band for many random and irrelevant reasons but he now remains our permanent drummer. We're all stoked on Rico's drumming on the CD and also excited to play with him live.

Recording has been coming along nicely. Most of the songs have had all the foundations layed out (drums, bass, & rhythm guitar) and are in the further phases of adding leads, fx, and all sorts of other interesting noises. Countless twelve-fourteen hour days locked away inside a room with no windows is what we have been subjected to in order to record this full length album. It begins to drive one insane yet the songs keep sounding better; so it's bearable!

Nothing yet has been confirmed on what the cd will be called, when it will be released, or where it will be released. Stay tuned on the blogger for updates as we continue announcing such tid-bits of info.

P.S. We recently did a photo session with our good friend emily (ediphotoeye) and have a couple new pictures for all of you kiddiez to see. Enjoy!

Hello, people of the world. This is Ryan Blair, bassist, among other things for PA. As I am typing this, Alex is tracking some guitar for what may possibly be the last song on the album. I may even get some bass tone in today, if time allows.

The only true facts for the album I can give you at this point are:

1) Circe will be on it (though we are rerecording it) and the rest of the songs are new.
2) We will release the album within the first few months of 2008.

Just Hanging Around

So the drums are officially coming to an end.They've all been recorded, and are just in the editing process right now. This leaves me with a lot of free time. Ryan and Patrick have gone back to school for a couple days, and Rico is back in Fresno for work, so I'm the only one left. I play a lot of videos games. Its given me a chance to also work on lyrics, and finalize them. I brought my trusty typewriter along with me to max out on mega indie street cred.

A friend also had given me a bunch of random records that she didn't want, and I brought them with me, since my record player has been up at the studio. I thought I'd go through and do a little review of each one, for fun.

MEGA VINYL REVIEW BONANZA:

Sade "Promise"

Most people know Sade from her hit 'Smooth Operator', and I must say that the one thing about Sade that is true, is her smoothness. Shes so smooth its almost impossible for the record needle to play the album due to its smoothness. Its not bad. Very 80's though. They didn't stop at jazz/blues ballads, they took it to the next level by adding synth and drum pads. Her band is pretty hilarious looking too. They all look like current members of Culture Club. I did like a lot of the songs though. Its the kind of thing you can't say is necessarily bad, just needs to be slowly gotten used to. The songs mainly focused on the same topic of 'Taboo love' or 'Painful love' or even 'Painful Taboo Love', which I understand is illegal in Alabama, but overall its well written love songs. Definitely check it out.

Shelly Berman "Inside Shelly Berman"

I've never ever listened to a comedy record before. And I think for a good reason. This was definitely a rare find. Shelly Berman, from what I read on the back of his record, is a middle aged man (or was a middle aged man) who does stand up. The one exception being that he did it in the 1960's. He also appeared to appeal to a much more conservative older crowd at the time. Let me start out by saying that , yes, there were funny parts. He seems to be a clever guy. But its VERY hit or miss. He also has the annoying habit of fluctuating his voice very high, as if hes performing with some kind of pressurized mining tool attached to his scrotum. The one thing I found very ironic was that when I pulled the record out of its case, the sleeve wasn't just a plain white paper sleeve, nor was it the Shelly Berman sleeve, but a 1970's Elton John sleeve for one of his albums. This was even more ironic that the Elton John sleeve was inside the shelly Berman case, as the album was called "Inside Shelly Berman" and Elton John is a noted Homosexual. I don't know about you , but it made ME laugh.

Peter, Paul, And Mary "In The Wind"

I didn't listen to this record because most of the songs are just covers of old folk songs and Bob Dylan originals.so I guess you could say that I have already heard the album in different forms. But I do know that Peter , Paul, and Mary were the creepy , engineered brain child of the folk nazi Albert Grossman, who also happened to be Bob Dylan's manager in the 60's. The cover of the album is kind of funny though.

Has the Light Gone Out For You? Cause The Lights Have Gone Out For Me. This is The 21st Century

Today today.
Today we start recording. I'm honestly very,very curious how its going to start.
At the moment, Patrick and I are at home with my sister, making Quesadillas and watching Doctor Who.
We're waiting on Rico , our drummer for the album to head over to my house. He drives down from Fresno. Quite a drive! After he arrives, it begins.

Spent a long night texting on the way back from a trip to Modesto with some friends. I only got a cellphone about a month ago. Texting is pretty exotic to me. Cellphones are pretty exotic now that I think about it, for me at least.

Woke up in San Fransisco. Looking out over all the city from a friends balcony. It was pretty foggy. but very pretty. It was very odd. Like a feeling of knowing that things are going to go on. Almost like there is no gear shift. Like its all happening as one solid movement. Theres no transition into recording, it just happened as it is.No anxiety or fear. To some degree. What a feeling.

Finally , after weeks and weeks of preproduction, we've narrowed things down. Made sure everything was in order.

The album is going to have 14 songs on it, all new material.Its a huge relief. We orginally started out with 32 songs. Some which originally got cut, but then were brought back and reinvented in some bizarre way. Of course, only we'll be able to tell. But none the less it feels weird to play the song differently.

We're also looking into several new ways to fill our sound out more live. Also working on doing more multiple instruments. It gets boring playing the same instrument live, so we thought we'd concoct some ways to mix it up.

We have a new surprise coming up, of course, when I mean coming up, I mean coming up in a couple months. Its something we've been talking about for ages now, and we think it will make the whole release much more interesting. Keep your eyes peeled is all I can say.

Now as we have gotten older, spent more time writing, and toured, the progression of the music has been something we all feel is necessary and healthy for us as a group of musicians. We are all very excited about the material we have been piecing together for the full length and hope that all of YOU will enjoy it! :)

Thats a very good question, and one I don't know if I have a good answer to, but I'll try. Yes, our music does sound very very different now. I wouldn't call it a 'Reason' that caused the change, but more that is just happened. I think our new 'sound', if it can be called that just yet, came from a lot of different things, thoughts , and experiences.

To answer the second part, I again, couldn't really say what is really driving it, but I do know , that for myself, I'm trying to stay far more open minded in the music I listen to, and maybe not that I listen to it, but try and get something out of any music I peruse. I know for a fact, that I've been getting a lot of burned CD's from an old friend. Mostly older 1920's-1940's jazz , and classical pieces, from movements or Arias. Not that I hate this style of music, but I never paid much attention to Jazz. I find though that with every CD he gives me, it may not be a Jackpot where every song sticks out in my mind, or that I enjoy , but there is always a handful of pretty awesome songs, and I try to pick the song apart to understand it as much as I can.

Another thing that really inspires me, is to watch documentaries on bands or musicians I enjoy. Recently saw a DVD on how U2 came to record and shape the sound for their 'Joshua Tree' album, which most people today don't realize had a stellar effect on music at that time. No one had honestly heard a song like 'With or Without You', something that today is very simple and commonplace. Now, I don't claim to be a massive U2 fan by any means, in fact, I Rarely listen to them. Its the fact though, that I am watching people that are so big, when they were at a possible struggling point in their career, that I find so interesting, and inspiring.

That was very long , I apologize ha. I guess I could have said "I just drink a lot of coffee and try hard".

Last night was , to say the least, very nice.

Things are beginning to click into place for me, and for the rest of the band. Even in our distance some days.

Got a really nice idea solidified. What more can I really say. I wouldn't want to explain the idea in detail, and I certainly don't have a good enough copy to put it up, so all I can say is 'nice idea'

Last night, we had TONS of pictures and little videos done on Ryan's camera. Definitely worth putting up. If you can bear with us, I'll promise to put them up either tonight or tomorrow.Stay tuned for that, there could some kind of sneak preview in there as well.

I received an old typewriter as a gift from a very good friend of mine, and I've been using it straight since I got it. Something about the clacking and the pushing, and the rhythm helps me concentrate. Whatever excuse I use , all I can say is that its helped me do a hell of a lot more writing. And I like what I'm coming up with.

I'm very curious to see what Patrick brings us. Hes away in his dungeon lab in the santa cruz mountains playing with pedals, and experimenting; dun dun DUN. Hes definitely going to walk into the studio with a loaded gun!

If any of you have heard (For those of you who are fans), Radiohead has released their 7th full length album Entitled 'In Rainbows' completely online. At the moment, they are the largest band in the world to NOT be on a record label. They are first releasing their album online, to download, straight from their website.

Customers will get to decide how much (or how muchn not) They wish to pay for the album. This means the largest band in the world is releasing their album for nothing, if a customer wishes.

Nobody has ever attempted something like this before. Especially a major label band. This says allot about the music industry and music culture at the moment. I would encourage you all to please go to their website inrainbows.com and download the album on October 10th. You can either pay a regular 12-14$,pay your own desired price, or just not paying anything at all; at least you get to experience an album thats been in the making for about 3 years now.

Kids, we don't really need record labels anymore to deliver music to us, telling us what to listen to, what the current accepted style is, and Bands, we don't need a record label or corporate support to be successful or to share our music with each other. I don't give much thought to this sort of thing, so don't take this as some kind of cultural rant, just only a reminder to wake up a little, rub the sleep from your eyes.

note-For those of us more pretentious and collector sorts, the album will be released in a box set as well, with the original cd release, a second cd release of another batch of songs (like an extended album), an art and digital information cd and two vinyl copies of the music cd's.hey big spender.

Last night was a very productive night for us.
A new idea came up , and I can definitely say I like the direction allot. In retrospect, It doesn't sound like anything we've done before. At least I can say that with full assurance.

Once we begin to solidify things more, I'll be sure to put up a track listing, and any ideas we have for the album.

Thank you to you all for sticking through this with us, I know that waiting for anything, even something as small as our album can be a buzz-kill sometimes.

We've been doing allot of studio time!
Exciting.
We've been going up to Emeryville about four times a week. So far, allot of progress has been made. We've settled down on some solid ideas for the album, and what we are aiming for.
Recording a full length is very much strategy. I'm learning allot.
Although, I must confess that about a quarter of that time is spent behind the control panel cracking jokes about Godzilla or Wizards.

AN UPDATE

...as we continue to work on the full length I begin to wonder what will come of it. An impenetrable void seems to loom ahead, one in which none of us can predict what will happen or where it will bring us...

So far, 8 of the 12 songs we have planned for the full length have been confirmed amongst us with 4 left to write/demo/rewrite/rearrange/finalize. Our writing sessions as of lately have been very productive and we cannot wait to get into the studio to get them recorded for all of you to hear :)

September 22nd w/ Strata, Kaddisfly, The Panic Division, and Ashes Ashes will be our last show while we head into the studio for pre production and eventually the actual recording process onto post production. This will also be John's last show with Picture Atlantic. Come out to support while we share the stage with him one last time.

I first off want to start the blog with an official Farewell to John.

He has left the band to pursue school above all else, and we wish him the best.
Just to clear up any rumours you may hear (although I doubt you will), John left on very good terms with us all, and it was his decision, he was neither kicked out, nor driven away due to internal issues.
Please if you have the time , drop John a nice message or comment letting him know how much you apreciate his work with us!

Secondly , our September 22nd show will be our last show for quite some time. Until we finish the full length that is...so not until the beginning of next year. If you plan on seeing us, the 22nd will be your one chance for a while.

I was originally going to write a "top 10 favorite releases of 2007" list, but fell short at only 4 albums. So far, 2007 has been littered with album push-backs, which is pretty terrible. The new records from Third Eye Blind, Radiohead AND Coldplay were at one time promised to be out by now. So far, I have these...

Just finished playing Fresno tonight.
The turn out was immense. A great show for sure.

I had lots of fun playing! just did a little acoustic set in this cafe room , right before all the bands.
All the kids came and sat at the foot of the stage. very nice.

Tomorrow, we head back home to play our good hometown of SJ. Make it out if you can! check our myspace for the show info.

Showed allot of kids the new song, as they came and checked out our merch table. People have said good things. "Do you listen to ATB??Because this sounds like ATB!". That was a first. If I ever move to germany and do trance music with guitar sound keyboard solos, I will contact you friend.

Met some amazing people after the show as well. Thank you: P.J. , Ally, Robert, Samantha, Jordan, John Q, Heather, Rico, and Raniquey (this name is the best).And a thanks to the Redbull people. You made my night as legally drug induced as possible.

was by far one of the best shows We've played to date.

It was definitely an odd day for me. I'm glad the show could cap the night off for myself, and hopefully anyone who was there.

If you live in Fresno, we are playing an acoustic set at Ground Zero on August 10th. More importantly, its a benefit show, for The Invisible Children's fund. This show is supposed to be HUGE. I've heard rumours of at least 500 kids. Thats rumours of course. Maybe I got that confused with 5. But none the less, please come out. We'll be playing material thats will have been unheard of save for this show. So..if you're curious check it out.

Well..

3 hours till the show now.
Even to this day, I still get the jitters in my stomach before a show.

Just finished watching a video of coldplay , playing a stadium in Brazil. I feel a bit dwarfed now ha! Seeing as we're about to play an all ages venue behind a Highschool in Los Gatos. Not that I'm complaining. I'm thankful, probably more thankful than most people know.

Most of all, I'm happy to be playing music I enjoy for people. If anything, I want people to have fun. I don't feel shows are events where we need to try and look our best, or be there , just to well..be there. Thats a thing of the past. I would honestly hope kids are coming for the music above all...and fashion, girls, and all the other fun bits that come with it second ;)

Still writing allot. We've got some interesting things coming our way, so please stay tuned to the blog, and to the myspace to check out the newest updates...not religious I would hope..but inbetween myspace comments...if you'd give us a look..we'd much apreciate it.

With that, I'm off..I'd love to see everyone finish their summer gracefully, and so on the end note, everyone be good to eachother, and make this a summer to remember.

So here we are, all the way in emeryville
doing...uh...band things.

Its been allot of fun. Highlight for me was being trapped in a mall and fighting off hordes of zombies. Its harder than it sounds.

It was pure agony going over essentially EVERY new song we've written, looking for the best out of the batch, and then on top of that making it work. We're talking about 32 songs in total now to be honest, seeing as we just added some REALLY old old old songs.
I had to let go some very nice songs in my opinion:(

We're going to have a special something in about 3 weeks time. So be prepared!

It's 1:45 am and we start pre production tomorrow, I'm excited! Too excited to sleep at least. Everyone is still awake.

We're getting new shirts in asap of the new design. We sold our entire selection of mediums and smalls on tour so we're unfortunately out of shirts for our friends in San Jose! :'-(

Yes indeed, we will be going up to Castle for the next three days to start to try and start to try and start working on some new stuff. No, that was not a typo. We have too many songs/song ideas/etc. Hopefully we can narrow it down and decide what would make a good record. No re-recordings. All new stuff. What's the point in redoing your old stuff?

Personally, I'm sick of our EP (except for Monday, which we have never played live.)

The hardest part about the new stuff is that I don't have a real direction for it. Hopefully we can figure it out in the next few days.

Everyone please check out Goh Nakamura. (IMHO) he is a better version of Elliot Smith. Well, I prefer him. Elliot Smith fans, or bullshitters who think name dropping Elliot Smith to make you seem more indie, please, don't kill me.

Let the show begin

Thursday we start our pre-production at the studio!
Its going to be very fun.
we're taking all our songs we have so far, and working them out for three days, all day.
At the end of the weekend, we'll have a little surprise for you all on the blog ;)

Tonight we practiced and went over a couple tunes. Rockin.

Just two nights ago, I saw a really good documentary on the Carter family. Most of us know the carter family through their daughter June Carter, later to be Mrs. Johnny Cash, played faithfully by the wonderful Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line. Apparently Sara carter (wife of the member A.P.Carter) left him for one of his cousins! behind his back! but they continued to be in the band together for years!Their manager didn't think that public knowledge of the separation was good for their image (this was the 1930's now).She even dedicated a song live on the air to her lover while A.P. was there! What a harpy if you ask me.

It tortured him till the day he died. He was deeply in love with his wife.
Why do you musicians have to be such sad folks?!'

Although he used to drive from house to house in random parts of the country , learning songs from the people that lived there. Mostly in backwater towns, where there was allot of folk music still preserved in memory. He took it and made it more modern, or decided new arrangements.

Maybelle Carter, the third member, also invented a whole new guitar technique called Scratch playing.

Those three people have had more influence on American Music today that anyone else I can think of.

I should be a history teacher shouldn't I?

first of all, thank you very much for all the people who came out to see us two nights ago at the Portable.
We had fun, and I hope we did well for you all.

We've been trying out the new songs, and live they've been going seemlessly.Now the only trick is see if people actually like the new stuff.

I know some of you have asked about the new shirts, since we've been low on smalls and mediums, so I just want to let those people know that we'll be ordering another printing of only smalls and mediums. As for our EP, I beleive this will be the LAST pressing we will do of it, so if you think you want one, or might want one in the future, now is the time to act!

Ok, I lied, that Interpol album is growing on me a bit. I think they all do.

A friend just went to England and Scotland recently , and last night they gave me some presents they picked up there. My officialy family clans scottish tartan, in scarf form of course. And from england she got me an official cricket ball. Those are both pretty cool to me. Especially the cricket ball.

I think I'm going to go drink some english tea now :) have a good day.

Hrmmm..

not much to say for now. so i thought I would just write some nonsense in here. Just so you know what we're up to.

We have a show on the 20th , which is this friday , at the Portable in San Jose. Ashes.Ashes , Brea , Case in Theory , and then Us (picture atlantic).Go to our myspace to see the address for directions.

We've been playing allot of new material this last tour, and showcasing the new tunes for everyone. I guess, so far, we've had some nice feedback on them.
I'm deathly nervous for them. I feel like all my songs are my children (which is pretty cliche to say , because I think about everyone musician has said that) and its tough to think that a song you wrote might not sound good enough for an album. Our new stuff, if I DARE say it, sounds way diffrent. Or, if you like to fence-sit, sounds in a diffrent direction. Just a bit worried that will go over peoples head.

Went out and bought the new Interpol CD. I became a huge fan after the first album came out.The second one took me time to get used to. And I think this one will take me even more. I'm sad to say...its really same-y. I hate saying that. But its kind of true. The CD case itself is a piece of art, and it came with a really sweet poster.

Rumor time (not that anyone cares): We will be recording a full length album this year. Won't tell you what month though. We have 25(?) new songs to work on. Lots of preproduction.
we'll be going into the studio this month for some preproduction, and maybe to mess around with recording.

Hello, fine people of the world. It has been too long since I have made a post in this thing. Actually, I'm not sure if I ever have. Anyway, as you may or should now know, we will be playing on the Ernie Ball stage tomorrow at the Vans Warped Tour. Thanks to everyone who voted for us. We were 6 (I believe) out of the tons of bands who submitted, and the top 20 went on to be considered to play. Out of those 20, four get to play, and we are one of them. Sound confusing? I still don't know what I'm doing.

So, to make it short, thank you all very very much. Please come between 12 and 2pm to check us out. We won't know till the day the exact time we play. Hopefully we aren't playing during any of the bands everyone wants to see.

Along with the Warped date, we have the rest of the next two weeks on the road in California and Nevada. We'll be playing a few shows with our friends The Holy Ghost Circuit and Stranger's Arms, and some with The Pilot's Wife (who are also our friends, and not yours. WHAT?)

I think we will be filming the dates and at least keeping an extensive photo blog, so check back here for updates. Our blogger is going to be updated every few days from now on, keep that in mind.

So for now, I will bid you adieu. Check back tomorrow after Warped for what should be an extensive blog about how we're glad we didn't fuck up.

Just want to say thank you, for all of you who came out to our show yesterday!

It was the most fun we've had in ages!

I came down with strep throat. which is understandable..I've been pushing myself for three weeks now.

Now time to do nothing.

Sorry to all the fresno kids. I've already gotten quite a view messages, more than I assumed I'd get , telling us we're lame and other assortments of words for being sick ahah. Don't worry , we'll play soon. Glad to know you guys really DO care.

If anyone comes to see us in the next two months...we'll have two completely new songs to play for you...so don't miss out on that.

Practiced two new songs in detail last night.

They're working out just fine. Actually very exctited for them.
Theres nothing really interesting about this post...except for , well...it being a post.

on top of that , we have our show this friday in Fresno. Which is a problem becausee...

I think I might be very sick. My throat is quite swollen.I hope it takes a week to get better.

But, if you live in Fresno...come anyways and hear me mumble.

The Band just started to rent out a studio.
We can practice there anytime of the day, which is the best part.

its at a private airport. Can you believe that. Its run by a man named Hiro Takai. We didn't get to meet him . Hes in Japan right now.

We've gone over alot of material lately.
I'd say we have about 18 new songs that we're working on.

We'll be showcasing them at our Fresno, Morgan Hill, And San Jose shows.

so try not to forget to show up to these events if you live in the area.

On Another note....if you ordered CD's from us, you'll soon be getting them.
We got a shipment in , finally.
We all apologize for not getting them to you. I understand some of you spent a really long time waiting for them.

Running Legs

Alot goes on inbewteen these little updates. Hopefully you read them.

its honestly the only way to keep up with this whole mess.

Saturday , we played with Junius, The Pilots Wife, and Day One Symphony.

Thats was excellent. Apart from all bands doing great, I traded words with intriguing characters. Namely a man and a woman.

Charly, her loft being the set for the show, was an amazing person to chat with. Nice woman.

Oh.....and theres a documentary being made on us. or for us...or , of us? Its hard at this point to really say.

You'll get ot see it. I'm very proud of it right now, if you can't tell

Ryan and I spent a good while recording demos today. thats where it starts. And it takes a good age.

Well, three of us...

two and I

are going to go practice today. Hopefully. At night of course.

We've got a new little single album thing out. Just two songs. We did the album cover art(or lack there of).

Its nice though, so check it out at our shows.

Demoing still going on.

Have to go, getting the most amazing back massage of my life.

Over the hills, and through the woods....

The show went well.

Our merch man mikey went with me in the van.
It was quite a drive. The fastest two hours one can travel.

Although going through the pass in the hills was somewhat hard.

We got their earlier than expected, even after having been lost for a little.

A very nice woman was there, and opened the doors for us. Then we unloaded all the equipment, which I can tell you , is very bad for my back.

There was a bar there (just a bar counter) where they sold candy and drinks, and we set up shop in the corner. I mainly listened to my ipod and minded my own buisness.

After a couple hours, and three bands, we got up and played. We started late, but people still stuck around , which is the best part. There was a certain feel to this show that I've never felt before. The feeling of being a rubber band holding all this energy waiting to snap. And sometimes I did.

The drive home was hard. Steep hills while it rained. I didn't get back till 4. Poor me.

Tomorrow is our show in Fresno.

which means I'll be up by 12 getting ready. and leaving by 2.

Driving is the thing I hate to do the most. Mainly for reasons due to sitting for hours on end.

If all is correct from what we heard, it should leave us happy at the end. We have shirts to sell now too.

and a single for sale. Homemade of course.

We're going to try some new things live tomorrow, which I am excited for.
